Heading into the last week before Halloween I’m giving you guys a couple places to check out to get yourself stoked for the final week.

1. Skeletown- Artist Rhode Montijo has created a fun little world called Skeletown, where every day is the Day of the Dead and it’s inhabitants are skeletal. Rhode’s wonderfully cute take on this culture sets the mood for the best time of the year.

I leave you with the movie trailer for the film Three On A Meathook.

This 1972 horror film was written and directed by Will Girdler and was one of the many films based off of real life psycho and Wisconsinite, Ed Gein.

Simple plot for this one. Four girls go to a lake for the weekend and surprise, run into a family of crazies. A fairly forgettable movie except for one really weird scene that takes place in a bar and features one really long song sequence. If you ever wanted to see how your parents partied at a bar before you showed up, rent this and enjoy.

I really remember watching this flick specifically cause it signaled the end of an era for me in a way. Most of my bad movie watching took place at my friend Brett’s house growing up. We’d devour these films in his basement on a almost religious basis. When you grow up in a town of 4,000 people they’re isn’t a lot to do and this was our way of passing the time. Eventually as we moved onto college Brett’s parents moved to a new house. We would come back during summer breaks and watch some films in the new house, but it never was quite the same. This was the first film we watched in the new house. It was fun, we were old enough to drink and go to bars now and the idea of doing the same thing we always did wasn’t as amusing as it was before. We never quite captured the joy of watching something so bad ever again. How could we?

  1. Ah yes. Three on a Meathook will always remembered. Those were the days, my friend. Now we just devour mass quantities of beverages at the cabin each year.
